Oh Fabri .... just the Deschler King I wanted to talk to.
Having a few Deschlers you probably- at least I am hoping - you have one or two with a 'dimple/pimple 9 '( for lack of better description) ???
I am pretty sure the core in post 34 has them . I have been studying this core and date for some time . I first thought it might be a S&L ... found nothing with that low last 9 .... so dropped that idea .
Then on a more worn core die I noticed this flaw chip on top of both 9s that looks like small points .
A core found used a few other makers . This long flaw, Juncker 3 flaw frame and even S&L to my surprize .
I know the 3 balls do look a bit different on some cores ---> but that 3 different cores having the same identical flaw is not possible .
I received the Deschler book last week and it helped a lot and eliminated S&L for now of being the source of the core as they did not get involved until a few months later .
The original group of companies to develop a useable EK as per guidelines was Godet, Maybauer, Juncker and Paul Küst with Deschler being the lead company .( pages 45and 46) for those who have the book .
After a cross size and design was finalized and accepted S&L was ordered to to supply dies and tooling to others .
The book clearly states S&L did not use Deschler design die but made their own master , which is identifiable , to supply to others finally to achieve a consistent appearance .
Cheers, Douglas
