Mine is made of neusilber and has that yellowish tinge. The core is copper. I would guess they were probably silver plated and this cross may retain the original plating with only a touched up core. Who is selling this cross?

You don't need to be a "professional" to repaint a core. Buy some MASKOL from your local hobby shop, paint the beaded edge and apply some satin black sparingly. How hard is that? Anyway, I said my peace on my initial response, but if your spending big bucks on messed with big ticket items, then you're gonna get burned. You may be holding on a while before you break even. Good Luck.

Paint on RK is very nice and if we compare it with other 3/4 RK's seems to be identical.
          Now we have two options:

          1. Original period RK 3/4 ring with cleaned silver frame
          Or
          2. Professional repainted iron core and polished silver frame

But in both options color is identical.
I would say the first option. Frame looks cleaned for sure. There is a possibility that the paint is original but still hard to tell from these pictures. Macro close-up and in hand study are required before makin real statements.

            Hi guys.
Today I get better pics of 3/4 RK.
            My opinion :

Unfortunately this cross was renovated some time ago.
Three part construction silver frame was cleaned.
Middle core someone repaint with simmilar black colour.
            Ribbon is from period original.

Nice original Cross - but untached would be nicer !

            Regards
            Mark

This RK was Lot 6315 in Hermann's Auction 66 and sold for €5000 + commission during the post-bidding sale: click. Obviously some others saw some problems, or it would have sold for a lot during the auction itself rather than for the minimum price afterwards.
              Best regards,

If you buy the cross, you can remove the paint and do it better yourself.
But the price is fantasy IMO.

Ludwig yes I have the same opinion about the cross !

seller wants 12000Ł for this one. also told me that the same cross in the same condition worn by Molders was sold for 80.000 €.
Yes its the same cross like on HH 66, bought for 5000€.
