          i wish i was older !. Being a young collecter hurts some times, especially after seeing that movie !

              Interesting to see that already back then stuff was "touched", like the chinstrap on the SS-visor, or the arm badge on the LW-tunic

                    Right! Really interesting. Fakes were made from 1945 onwards, and originals were touched all the time in the early days.

                    I think your observation validates the theory that, while provenance and the ol' "I've had it for 50 years" defense can help, only research and study can really authenticate an item.

                    Anyway, that's my view.
