    Dietrich Award RK Documents

Today I had the pleasure of seeing Sepp Dietrichs formal award documents for his oak leaf and oak leaf and swords. My wife working with the command historian, museum staff managed to get me added to another group that wanted to see the documents. That group consisted of Michael Everett (on left) who I knew from my collecting days in Germany and Andreas Thies ( on right) who is well known in the collecting community. I had a great time catching up with Mike, meeting new friends and seeing some awesome items not generally available to the general public.

Second pic are three DK with diamonds. I didn't get real excited about these since I've see Bob Hritzs set.

    Jim

My first thought when I saw the cap was, "is that original"? Shows you how hard it is to pick the real deal. The eagle is not what I expect from Sepp, but there you go. These are just wonderful shots. The DKs and the batton are very special, but the documents are just amazing. This history here is so important. Thanks for showing.

I can't attest to the originality of the hat. Supposedly the hat, boots, and document all came together. Did see a put together Pea Pattern tunic on display that raised some questions. jim

If that hat is original, it will change the way hats are evaluated in the future. I may be very wrong, but I don't like it and would love to see the accession paperwork.
