The real bad (and maybe even fraudulent) thing here is not that Mr. Cross thinks that it is a "Dupla" and that it might be worth the money he is asking for. It is also not too bad that he tells a nice story of the origin of the piece - we have far better story tellers here in the USA with far more romantic touches!
The bad thing is that he writes that his piece is the same type as pictured in Forman's book. The intend is obviously to give this incredible bad piece a certain legitimacy. Even somebody who has no idea about anything Third Reich can see that the two pieces have nothing in common at all. So, either Mr. Cross is blind or has an incredible impaired perception (in which case he should not try to sell militaria). Or he is thinking that his customers are stupid .....
At any rate, IMHO this is an attempt to sell something where he clearly knows that it is not what he says it is. There are other words for this procedure ...
I clearly advise to stay away from websites which employ such a selling practice.
