EK2 nice and honest

Landed this old veteran. Lovely long ribbon, maker marked but I cannot for the life of me make it out.

Looks like a S&L EK2 .

There appears to be a stamp in the reverse photo on the ribbon suspension ring. You will need a magnifying glass to make it out. If it's a '4' it's an S&L like Douglas stated.

Just though I would show the mega long ribbon for the record. I wonder why it was kept that length.

Typically a full-length EKII ribbon would measure a little over 11". Nearly all of the recipients of the cross would sacrifice enough ribbon to be sewn into the second button hole from the top in their tunic to show that they had been awarded it.

If it's longer than the typical length stated above it was the exception, not the general rule.

That's very interesting. It's just under 12 inches so bang on the issued length.
