Typically a full-length EKII ribbon would measure a little over 11". Nearly all of the recipients of the cross would sacrifice enough ribbon to be sewn into the second button hole from the top in their tunic to show that they had been awarded it.
If it's longer than the typical length stated above it was the exception, not the general rule.

That's very interesting. It's just under 12 inches so bang on the issued length.
