Yes, there is one in my book. I was referring to his comment that Hartmann had a "jeweller's copy" made for him. Next thing you know is there is another wave of "privately made jewellers copies".....

I must be mis-reading/mis-remembering earlier comments in this thread. I thought someone had stated that in his book, Hartmann said he had got a copy made of his oakleaves and diamonds for everyday wear. I need to get the book and read it myself to see what he actually says!
I'm glad if this was not the case and he was simply referring to his "B" version. It means that there is therefore no evidence of anyone having copies of original awards made privately by a jeweler during the war.
Thus the term "jewelers copy" should be removed from the hobby as it is only being used to fool people into thinking that a counterfeit/fake/forgery/repro is authentic.
