A common fake from about 10 years ago. Check the fake crosses section for others of this type. The top/bottom taper on the pin is the easiest way to pick them.

I think so, but I saw one for sale once that was all correct and described as magnetic. I asked the dealer to confirm, and he replied: "yes, it is magnetic. But it's been sold already."
