My L/12 marked screwback has the earlier/original 2-piece and larger OD screwback setting as per AWS examples. Note that imo the screwback disc on Stefan's cross is a replacement, as evidenced by the larger OD patina on the reverse.

Same like Trevors EK1 ?
Or does your opinion belongs only to my EK1?
If so, what bigger Screw Disc you would expect as original combination?Last edited by 5tefan; 06-04-2013, 12:52 AM.

Hi Stefan,
The following does not generally work for mint examples, but when I look at worn screwbacks I like to see a change in patina at the edge of the screwdisk, like a shadow. Yours has that "shadow", but not at the edge of the screwdisc. I can not comment on Trevor's example as the disc is not in place.
I realise that devices could have been changed by the original veteran or any subsequent owner. I guess if the screw fits, wear it.
I'm attaching the reverse of my example, which has a more Imperial-like set-up. I'm not in a position to provide a pic with the disc off at the moment. The core is the same as the 2 already shown (more of a matt finish though).

I don't think this exact Juncker type is ever stamped 800. But similar ones by other makers are, and those are all private purchase types made any time 1914 -- 1945 I would say. Here's the closest you'll find to this type with silver content. Maker AWS, same core design, different frame, same hardware, marked 925 for sterling:

Looking for ROUND BUTTON 1939 EK1 Spange cases (LDO or PKZ)
