Dear all, I am happy to be the new owner of the beauty. It is said to be attributed to a Major Zethmeyer. The price was steep. However, I love the whole set being contained in its rare original case. Obviously, it was a private purchase piece. Hope you enjoy!

I really don't know. Something slender with a semi-rounded top that would need an elastic band to keep it in the case. A slim lighter? A small plaque? It would all just be guesses. It's a neat little case though.Best regards,

Bummer. Big time.

EDIT: second thoughts... How about being the case for his WWI EKII?

Thanks Otter and Cole.
Otter, you have good eyesight. I could not see the EK mark, which has made it more mysterious because the case does not seem to be a one which should have fitted an EK. By the way, no photograph of the original owner. I am looking for one too.
Cole, yes, it is from Klaus Butschek. And thanks for the comments.
