Dennis, the catch on your cross is usually found on post-war Souvals.

    You are calling me rude?
    That's a cracker.

Good luck with the collection !

      Dennis,

First, you claimed you posted an EK1 "just like" Eljabanebre's. But yours is nothing like his. So get your facts straight.

Second, imagine if everyone who posted an EK that couldn't be confirmed as wartime reacted like you are: making a big fuss about it, spreading false information, hijacking other threads with angry posts, misrepresenting other people's conclusions, and leveling accusations.

Jeez, just try to move past it.
      Best regards,

Interesting. I always though the example Dennis posted was a late wartime compatible Souval example. When did that change?

Evaluate the item, not the story and not the seller's reputation!

If you PM/contact me without the courtesy of using your first name, please don't be offended if I politely ignore you!

That's what I thought and have had a few pm's from people who know say it was right.

            Hi Mike,

No one except Dennis has said his EK1 was fake or postwar; he's just being oddly defensive as far as I can tell.

There was a long discussion here. The final conclusion was: who knows with this type? (if that can be called a "conclusion.")

If you have something to add to that thread, please do. I think everyone would love to have some clarity on the matter, but to me it's a mystery.
            Best regards,

I dont have any reason to think why dennis' cross should not be wartime. But why do you feel offended just if one says that its not wartime, even if you have the confirmation of the manufacturer itself that the cross is fine? The always will be people that deem everything being fake but you are the one who shold be comfortable with your piece.

I agree. The thing that pissed me off was that if this cross was not a war time cross why didn't Souval just say so.I had been doing business with him and Ken Lane for years. If it was not an orig. cross from WW2 I believe he would have said so.I would show him other Souval medals/badges and he would tell me if it was post war or not........no problem..I am putting it to rest now and move on.

Only because 4 collectors state that souval did not make any crosses we cant declare Souval as a postwar maker. Nevertheless i have seen many genuine groupings with souval EK2/1.

For this 4 collectors......... original WWII Souval advertising.

This page comes directly from "Uniform Markt" 15.01.1942, I've chosen this year because is the "heart" of the WWII.

                  Hope this help.

I started a very good thread last month on awarded Souval EK1's. From the great amount of info that poured in a conclusion I made is that the cross Dennis posted does exhibit post war attributes like the mark on the pin. The first cross that started this thread is considered by many a wartime made example.
