It is 100%Souval junk. There is a good thread on these Souval junk crosses just check it out on here.I had one just like this one and it was said to be post war junk.It was said that Souval did not make crosses in WW2.Please check this out.
Please dont tell any stories. Souval was one of the very first manufacturers of EKs during the war until its last day. The cross posted before is a wonderful and early piece.
Only because 4 collectors state that souval did not make any crosses we cant declare Souval as a postwar maker. Nevertheless i have seen many genuine groupings with souval EK2/1.

Hi Dennis,
You are either misremembering the thread, or you are being intentionally disingenuous.
Sorry but I don't trust what you say jmo.

I'm sorry your EK1 was called possibly postwar, Dennis. Really I am. But it's no reason to go around spreading information you know to be untrue ("It was said that Souval did not make crosses in WW2"). How can that possibly help anyone?
Best regards,
Streptile
Looking for ROUND BUTTON 1939 EK1 Spange cases (LDO or PKZ)
i have also received many souval pieces directly from families. Even ground dug Souval.
So please do your homework Dennis.
I agree with you I have been out here 52 years and I know and have done business with Mr.Souval and he has shown me and told me about his war time crosses.I put one on here that he said was a war time piece and the so called experts said it was a fake and lets just say I got rid of it.I will not post pics of the cross here as this is not my thread and I have been told it was a fake or post war copy.
Do your own homework .......you are no teacher to me!
Dennis, why did you get rid of it when Souval himself told you it was wartime???
Because some collectors told you it might be post-war??
I think you are the one that should do your homework.
Souval crosses are a grey area because they kept making ek's for many years after the war.
But they definitely made ek's during the war.
If you refuse to post your Souval: fine.
You don't have to learn from what other collectors write or post, but even if you are 80 there is still enough to learn.
But that is up to you, of course.
Or stay ignorant and bash other collectors, that is a choice as well.
