Thanks to all for the feedback which I appreciate.

To answer your question, Ron: I acquired this piece as part of a large private collection back in the 1970s and the owner had acquired it from another collector prior to that...so I really do not know the original source of this RK KVK.

I wanted to bump this for more discussion. Any more thoughts on the authenticity of it? It has been in collections for at least 40 years - any chance of it being a Souval piece?

      Cheers,
      Matt

Looking at the pictures again, now as the thread has been bumped, I must say I lean more to a fake than an original. Ribs or no ribs is not the issue, IMO, but the lack of a silver hallmark and the thickness... No, I donĀ“t believe in it.
But IMO it is too well made, to be a Souval piece. Even an early one.

Ludwig, You may very very be right, It is a repro no doubt- ribbed suspension ring or not. The thickness off the center and the poor wreath details say it all. I agree that it may not be a Souval though as the quality of a Souval Repro is not there on this one and they always seemed to be marked with an '800', Regards, Michael
