    Fritz Zimmermann EKII

An oldtime favorite of many collectors this cross comes unmarked, but we all know the maker...

Yes, Douglas, 'parting' from the thread with this last photo.

              Very good Douglas,

              You've always known your S&L's.

You happen to know the weight of yours ?
And may I post a rare version of this Zimmermann EK2 here ?

I'll take a break from the TV and get my weigh scale out for business. By all means post anything you like here, Douglas.

                  Robert

                  Edit: 20.6 grams

Very nice cross Robert, I look forward to seeing what Douglas has up his sleeve!

First the 2 Fritz Zimmermann cores , the most common as in the one you posted and the less common thin date core type . The common core is a S&L core , which also indicates that Fritz Zimmermann obtained this from S&L . The thin core could be their own or from another source - anyones guess .
I do not have the regular FZ EK2 - just the thin date and one you had at one time . Note the strange balls in the thin date on the right one - are like small paint dots .

The thin date version's reverse date may match up with the reverse date of the original cross I posted above. I'll search the archives for a sample of the thin date version's reverse date to post here...unless you already have one to post...?

Have the reverse of the thin date .

I do too. On top is the thin date version, on the bottom my standard F. Zimmermann date...

I see some differences, although both are thin; the nose on the second '1', and the bottom ball on the '3'.

The thin Date : Both reverse are a dead match - use the reverse die plates .... even though the front have 2 different dies .
