Thanks Stefan. That certainly is a very rare piece Great shot of the mark too.

Douglas, I think you could be on to something, although I've never seen a 2. Class L/12 Spange marked on the side of the datebox before. Usually Juncker marked them at the bottom or middle of the wreath.
    Best regards,

I can't see any mark on my new zinc Juncker, but I can't say that it's not marked. I thought briefly about cutting the ribbon off, but the ribbon is one of those great ones with old threads, creases and seams from being mounted on a tunic. Just a great ribbon with a lot of character.

The zinc finish (despite my poor photos) is very very good for a Juncker, most of which lost a lot of their silvering over the years. All four prongs in perfect condition.

Thanks for your comments -- anyone else have a Juncker zinc Spange to post?

Very nice! but back in September 2009, you did not know for sure if it was a wartime Spange. Here's your quote when I posted my example:

As you can see I wasn't expressing my own opinion there, and it's true that one of our members -- our biggest Spange wonk, in fact -- doubted the authenticity of this Spange back then. I was referring to him and his opinion. Actually he has only very recently seen the light.

For myself, I have no doubts about this type, although it has been copied of course:
