                        A keen observation.

IMHO, it is an original document. Burgdorf and Linnarz signatures have are correct for this timeframe. The Burgdorf signature is authentic. The standard typewriter font (vs. the Führerschreibmachine) has also been observed during this period.

                        Regards,
                        John

                            Hi Frank,

Are you saying that you think this document is fake based on a delayed approval date for the award? What is your source for the 5.5.44 date?

                            John

I have a RK VB for a soldier proposed on february 1944 and awarded on may 1944 so delays are not uninown.

I have saw this von Schwerin document only as s scan ! And there was this approval date from the swords document - 5 . Mai 1944

Perhaps it was a modern copy. You can make it from a original , scan it and make a other name on the copy and post it in the internet !

Normaly the approval date was prompt - realtime (few days - weeks) made !

But the approval date von Schwerin swords document was more nearly 1/ 2 year after he got the swords ?? Its not a posthum piece (for example) .
