Since you're new to TR collecting and considering all the variables out there, it's probably a good idea to simply post the best pics you can of a piece you're thinking of buying right here on the forum for the experts opinions. Believe me, I wish I had known about this site much earlier than I did. It would have saved me hundreds (if not thousands) of dollars by avoiding fakes. It's a minefield out there!! At $25 a year this forum is one of the best values out there! Most of the folks on this forum are very cordial and helpful. Take advantage of it. Good luck and happy collecting!

Thanks for all the input. The photos were very helpful in finding those "makers signatures" everyone was talking about. Being in Germany I have come across quite a few medals etc. but have not pulled the trigger for fear of getting burned.
