    Miniature KvK 2nd class ???

At an out of town mall corridore antique display I ran across 2 miniature KvK 2nd class crosses - one with and one without swords . Being behind glass could only quickly get a rough mesurment with a pencil ... as they were closing up .
With out being able to hold them ... they had nice detail and appeared to be made of brass .... well aged and even with appropiate mini ribbons . The fellow had allready gone and she could not give any answers - and advised to return to Victoria the next day which I was not able to .
    The approximate measurments are :
Crosses about 2/3rds of a normal size - around 3.3 cm across and the ribbons are about 1.2 cm .
The question I have ---- Has anyone come across or seen war time miniatures like these or are they only post war trinkets ???

    Cheers , Douglas

Interesting .... so there were some minis of these .
Seeing yours I noticed that the ring on yours is flat - like on a Knight Cross ... the ones here had a jump and ribbon ring - just like the full size ones ....
on these ones they were smaller . Yours for some reason looks smaller though with not quit the same details ?
      What does yours measure ?

        Hi Douglas.

Erasor's mini is most probably the 16mm version and IMO an accepted size. I've never heard about the size described by you, but I've seen a half sized KVK1 which I strongly believe was a fantasy piece. With that said, I don't think you missed a good deal

        cheers

          Thanks Peter ;
Thought minis were quit small and the detail would not be as the full size - just like the one above shows . The size was odd on these ones here - not quit big enough - and that was why I notched the pencil I had . Price tags were turned around , so no clue what he wanted for them . A 2 hour drive one way to get there and he will be gone back to the mainland in 3 hours .
Quit rare to find anything here on Vancouver Island and then it is mostly fakes any way .

I have some KVK 1. Class Minis in the so-called size of "Halbminiatur", which is 25 mm. I have not heard of anything larger than that. But that doesn't mean ist doesn't exist.

              Thanks Dietrich :
So there is a larger size also ?
Taking/guestimating a measurment of something through the glass of a 2" or 3 " high display tray is anything but accurate .... so I could be out .
How did you measure the size on yours and ... is the level of detail better than the mini ? Is the ring mount the same as the mini too ?
Used Eraser's picture as demo .

On a regular size KvK 2nd class : on the one I have --
                A -- is about : 4.7 cm
                B -- is about : 5.2 cm
                1/2 cm differance . I measured them as shown as diagram - B .
Depending on which way is the proper way to measure them ..... I could be high and closer then to an actual 'Halbminuature' like yours .

I measured at "A". I am not aware of any bigger than 25 mm. If the price is not crazy ( and if they are not made of plastic ...) I would buy them. Why not?
