Is it in your possession? If so, where did it come from? What's the story behind it? A little more info might help....

Unless it was nighttime, or the weather was bad, and you were running out of gas - then it was a sweaty nightmare, like a monkey f*ing a skunk.

Yes it is in our possesion, a collector wanted us to sell it in commission and sent it to us, that is the story.

We wanted to get it checked on the forum first, since there are alot of fakes on these cloth crosses, and the knowledge is limited, not many books about cloth Iron Crosses............

In my opinion, with the EK in Cloth you mostly have to make up your own mind. There are some expectation on how they should "look like".
And also in my opinion these can be faked rather easely.
So unless it has some solid provenance, I would not want it in my collection, as other then a curisoty.

If the price was right, I would buy it without hesitation.
Michal is right, I had two of these (sold one a while ago)

This is one of the accepted crosses in cloth, and these can sometimes be found with a label of the maker on the reverse.

                  Schmitt-Stoffeffekte if I recall well.

                    Hello all,

I don't believe in them. All of the ones that we have seen are identical in construction yet it was never instituted by the Government like the DKiG, thus these would have been special order/private purchase so variances in construction would appear and in the materials, which they do not.

If Floch made regular EK's I bet he made cloth ones too!

IMO these 2 Cloth EK looks very similar, just the first one have been "hiding" in the ground for some time.

                          a quick comparison:

looks like different swastika and the year is also different, not the exact same embroidery.

Same material, same fake in my opinion. Sure there are minor variances in the embroidery as it wasn't done by a machine.
