I'm just surprised that it got by the E Bay police. I just tried to sell a luftschultz helmet there. Although I didn't display the decal, they still pulled my ad and warned me that I was in violation of their policies.

          1 in 20? You're way off:

According to the Australian Bureau of Statistics, in mid-2006 there were 4,956,863 residents who were born outside Australia, representing 24% of the total population

Better make that 1 in 4

You would have thought they'd be able to take a joke by now - I mean, just look at the platypus.

Australians are well known for being rather sensitive. It is usually put down to the fact that they are our largest neighbour but we beat them at most sports we care to play.

Did you have a buyer contact you and ask to sell it directly? A common very dirty tactic on Ebay is for someone to report things as offensive and the same person who reported the item will then try to buy it directly from the seller after it is pulled for a fraction of value. I stopped even trying to list nice items for this reason.
