Ok, i got some higher resolution pics now and as you can see its a new pin system on the cross.
Im guessing that the seller has mixed up the pictures of two different crosses.

Based on the new pictures, would you say it is a Mayer cross after all?

        Oh well...

No, it's still no Mayer, and that pin system looks more like a Schickle-style system to me (catch, etc). Although the cross is no Schickle either!

To be honest I don't know what it is.

Maybe Ben or StefanK have seen this type?

          Wait a second.

I think this is the "333" fake frame.

          Anyone else agree?

I would steer clear of this cross. It matches no known originals anyway.

Yes, i will pass on it unless it gets a 100% here. I think im gonna play it safe and wait for a textbook example instead.
But it would still be interesting to identify this cross, fake or not.

                  It's a "333" type fake EK1.

As far as I know these flaws exist only on this new-ish and dangerous generation of fakes. So I don't think you will ever get a more definitive ID.

                  333 fake frame:

                          Hi Fredrik,

I guess if your friend has had this for over 25 years, it's not as new as we thought.

I would still be happy to hear from Daniel, Ben and Stefan about this cross.
                          Best regards,

Thanks for joining the thread Stefan. And might i say, a very nice presentation.
So the core is acually a Mayer but what about the strange flaws in the frame? Is there any concern there?

Maybe Trevor can show us the complete obverse of the 333 fake for compare.
