Thanks Nicolai. I don't doubt the originality of this nice DK mini, perhaps I should explain my inquiry better. There's supposed to be the date "1941" at the bottom of the wreath and it can be quite hard to see. Can you please take a closer look

    cheers

      Hi

      Hi

I think there are a spot where the 1941 should be, but the numbers 1941 itself is not visuable to the eye on this one

          Interesting Topic

          Gentlemen,

Alexander Teichmann had a pretty good war record and well decorated.

          Sincerely,

          Edward L. Hsiao

            Hi Nicolai,

I found this old post and thought I'd give it a few more comments, please try to perceive it as constructive critisism.

One might think that it's odd to place a 1.Klasse EK below a 2.Klasse, as can be seen on the combo. However this was common practice for Beco, as well as Petz&Lorenz.

I've seen DK minis with both dates and without, and it has puzzled me why. I've also seen a PK number stamped on the reverse, which all by now should know has no place on a miniature. The fact that the swastika is possible to move I can accept, I've got it on an Imperial mini as well, but there's yet another anomaly i.e. the stamping of the L/57, which should be positioned horizontally to the bottom tip of the cross. That would leave the pin in a vertical position, which is correct on your mini, but the L/57 is slightly tilted.

With the possibility of post-war production and the lack of knowledge whether or not Beco was sloppy enough to use a date-less wreath during the war, how can you be so sure it's a 100% original?

            cheers
            Peter

              Hi

              Hi

I sold the items long ago. All the items was part of
a group that was very convincing to me.

There was some discussion about the mini DKIG.
To me it was very nice. I was very surprised, that
some members had issues with it. Especially when
so little details of the production of these minis are
              known.

              BR
              Nicolai

Well Nicolai, that's the whole point with my comments. Why discuss something that all are in agreement about and this is a discussion forum, right? And if so little is known, how can you present an opinion that all is 100% original? I'm not doing this to be a pain in the butt, only trying to initiate some serious brainpicking among the miniature collectors, although there doesn't seem to be that many of us. As for your former stuff, that was a sweet group

                cheers

                  Hi

Everything else in the group was fine.
The quality and patina of the mini
                  was great.

I can not remember all the details
                  around the group,

other than I believe it was
                  authentic.

Other than that, I do not have
anything to ad about the DKIG
                  mini.

And yes quality items was made
                  early post war, and sometimes
with original parts. When I bought
the group myself I bought it
as a fine original and it was quite
                  expensive. Much more than I
sold it for. My personal opinion
now, are it's was probably just a
                  wartime variant.

                  Nicolai

Nicolai, please don't get me wrong, I'm not in any way suggesting foul play from your part and the mini is most probably perfectly legit. Like I said, the mini collectors aren't that large a community and this was an attempt to fish for opinions

                    cheers

                      Hi

No I am not offended. It's great that
you are interested in details about
                      these great minis

I just bought a mini DKiG that belonged to
Major Heinz Oppermann, it is unmarked but most likely L/57. Multi piece construction. I also recently acquired a mini DKiS that is marked L/50 The silver one you can easily spot the mini 1941 on the 6 o’clock mark on wreath. At first I thought that the DKiG , thought the wreath is more ornate than the silver , lacked the 1941. But it is indeed there , I had to use a microscope to see it. Unfortunately the one I own is cheap and can’t take digital photos. I highly doubt these pieces were produced after the war in this quality. If the swaztika moves , it’s because it’s secured with a rivet. And can very well come loose after 70+ years.
