That answers most of the questions. I don't doubt S&L assembled their own post-war badges, but just wasn't sure if they assembled all of them, like the plethora of 1st pattern zinc S-Boats that Gordon noted turning up in England in the 1970's, some of which had spurious maker marks -- we just don't know for sure when these were produced. And the spectrum of zinc badges from the unknown "flatback" maker that share the obverse designs of both Pforzheim and Vienna makers come to mind as other potential post-war assembly products. We just don't have the answers yet, and like you say no one really wants to wake up some day to discover that 15% of their collection is post-war!

But anyway, nice to know that at least the 15-L15 story is sorted out for the most part. Thanks again.

yes, we know these pages from Dietrich Maerz but it doesn´t mean we have to agree with him does it?
We think these KVks in zinc are OK, we know them since many years and have seen them in groups from German soldiers. We do not like the buntmetal ones though.

Andy, I know this thread is about EK1 that you posted, but I think it informative to add the KVK1 in as it have the same maker stamp "L15"
