    This is an interesting piece to me because some time ago I posted pics of a similiar one, although unmarked, on this thread:

    Unfortunately I didn't get much response. I was puzzled mainly by two things - one is that the weight was consistent with lightweight cupal pieces, but I had never heard of Juncker making such pieces. The other was the die flaw in the "9", which is common on cloth versions of the DKiG, but I had never seen it on a solid version. I have since learned that it does sometimes turn up on solid versions. My pictures weren't very good, and I no longer have the cross to make further pictures. I'm still curious.

      well, out of interest, when it came up on the estand I compared it to others I have on file (sadly none in my collection)

      I'm not an expert on these, but I did notice that the date seemed very different, notibly the 'o' in the '9' was very small, yet still had the die flaw.
      Two different date stampings, with the same die flaws?
      I was confused enough!

      looking again, isn't the pin assembly different to most?
      learning all the time....

        Hi,

        # Jon, "9" is right for this late example, pin assembly is right too for late Juncker's DK light cupal version.

        # Tim, you see in cloth version flaw die in "9" because they came both from the same fabrik and is right in very late Juncker solid version too.

        I don't see particular problems in this cross, for me it is an ORIGINAL one, very late with not good finished details in rivets.

        Jos, if you read this thread, can you put weight of your DK ?( I think is around gr.44,00 - 44,50 ) and dimentions ( between mm63,10 and 63,50 )

                      Here is the data on the cross;

                      -Weight 44 grams
                      -Vertical 63.3mm
                      -Horizontal 63.5mm

                      I took it to the jewler yesterday and had him match my data, and it did, so these are solid dimensions and weights.

                        I owned a "2" marked cross a while back. The 9 was also flawed.

                        I had good feelings about that cross. Weighed 49.7 g.

                        Check out the hand finishing on the back of Joe's cross. Looks correct to me.

                        The finish on Juncker crosses is not very durable. Joe's was probably not awarded, or awarded very late and put away immediately.
