    Thanks Guys!

I guess it is time to make my point. I was just trying to show some of the newcomers this collecting field just how precarious this hobby is. I bought the cased set from a very reputable dealer who swore up and down that it was 100% legit.

I by no means am trying to 'bash' someone who takes the time and effort to publish a book that in my opinion is one of the definitive info sources on the Iron Cross.

My point is this: by becoming members of this Forum all of us benefit greatly because of the collective knowledge that has been stored here.

You can look at books all you want, but believe me: the info highway is the only way to go! We have been successful in identifying repros as soon as they hit the 'tables' in the past and we will continue to do so in the future...

    Best regards,
    eric

P.s. The dealer in question to this day still refuses to accept a return on this
item despite a so-called 'lifetime guarantee'. He SWEARS that it is original....
perhaps this is why I have an aversion to dealers--with an exception to a paltry few like Detlev N.

    Hope this helps!

      Dealer Inquiry

Hi Eric, great contribution to the thread. I have to ask at this point who is the dealer. Exposing unscrupulous dealers is an asset to all the forum members. Thanks Sonny

Gary saved me from buying a cased spange that was mint, could have been made yesterday upon closer inspection it was to nice and probably was made yesterday.

The true measure of a man is how he treats someone who can do him absolutely no good.

          Dear Eric,

another example of the FAKE spange pictured by you. I was burned by that one in the eighties as well. The mark is L21 without the "/". I would also be interested in the name of that dealer that refuses to give you the promised refund on that one.

          Cheers, Frank H.
