Nice Meybauers galore! I love those flawed frames! and if either of you can't stand looking at the cross? I would happily take it off your hands what with Meybauer being my favorite maker LOL!!!

Nice to hear that defect on the reverse date is common. I was little worried.
Cross was bought from next of the kin from SS-Totenkopf soldier. Next monday-Tuesday I will post MINT gold wound badge with case and miniature from same soldier.

thank you guys... please take a look at 1813... first number has defect.

Take a look at this thread, post 12. The "connected 1&8 flaw" is found on all the Meybauer Schinkel i saw so far.

Interesting picture Robert - post 13 . Even though your LDO Maybauer has flaws they are not that exstensive as on mine - which is ring marked 7 ! Hard to believe that mine would have have passed PKZ inspection ??? I am thinking it might be a (PKZ or internal) reject - and kept and sold later as a LDO or cheap private replacement piece and they left the ring marked as it was - without replacing or restamping it ???
