I was recently able to add this one to my collection. It's a typical Souval, front and back, love it or hate it.

Souval EK2 with uncommon mark

Most Souvals I've seen are unmarked. Occasionally I see one with a '98' mark, their PKZ code. I've seen comparatively few with their LDO mark, 'L/58,' as this one has. It's stamped incuse into the ring in a style similar to their '98' marks, and is pretty crisp.Attached FilesBest regards,

Hey Oli,
Good to hear from you as always. Souval EK2s are not my specialty, but I have compared it to my '98' marked wartime frame, and I find it compares favorably. In fact I believe it to be a precise match. However, I'm not certain I know which flaw you refer to, so if you could post or email me some more specific information, I will be happy to do further comparisons.

Hi Trev,
i ask because i had a Souval EK2 with the same setup (frame, BUT NON-magn. core and mm L/58), too.
When i showed it i was told that it was a post war, because the frame had not the flaw, etc.....
What about this type of mm ?
Here we got the post war EK1 with L/58 on the needle (post#8):

But i must say i like your cross post war or not.....
It is still missing in my LDO collection of EK2/1939.
