100% fake! Easiest way is to start with checking known makers and this is not one of them. This copy is a one piece and well all is wrong.

Hey guys, sorry if i'm hijacking this thread lol it is not my purpose, but I had a question.

I have tried using the "fakes vault" in the members area, but I am still very much learning things and have a hard time spotting fakes. For me, personally, having a pic of a fake tells me nothing because I am still struggling to know what I am looking for/at. Because of this I am wondering what about the cross makes it a fake? Is it the beading? The paint? The Swaz? Just curious and thought this would be the perfect topic to comment on this issue I am having!

It's just a very hard question to answer. The best way is to handle a lot of originals. Barring that, read this forum like a book -- from start to finish -- and take careful note of the details to train your eye. There are no absolutes: one-piece, three-piece, magentic, non-magnetic, fat beading, thin beading, wide pin, thin pin, upright block, horizontal block, flat, vaulted... the variations of originals go on and on and on. The best thing to do is read, read, read, in my opinion. Study the forum like it's a textbook...

...then in a few months you can buy George and Dietrich's book.
                  Best regards,
                  Streptile

When I saw the title of the thread talking about a MM 51, I knew the cross would be no good. These fakes have been shown here before. If you keep studying, over time you will start to pick up on these things.

I will definitely be picking it up! That being said, isn't it focused on 1st class EKs and not 2nd class? Or do the two go hand in hand?

I better leave that for George or Dietrich to answer.
