Absolutely NOT ok! Run as fast as you can! The value IMHO is about $ 500.- (amx!).

        Thank you so much

I was planing to transfer payment tonight, and luckily I posted here first ! I`m a little bit shaky now

Never seen or study the KC, so I trusted the seller.
This Forum is the best, so thank you.

Being a trusting person can end up costing you sad as that fact is.
          It's always" buyer beware"

                Dietrich,
Not to defend Barry Turk or Detlev Niemann, but why are you saying that the cross is postwar???? The cross is not a "B" frame nor is it a "C" frame. There's no dent row and no 6-9 bridge flaw. On the site, it appears to be an unissued "A" type. Are you seeing something else?
                Regards,
                Leroy

                  Gentry,

I think I can see the dent row. That combined with the missing finish of the inner ring and the typical post war paint job makes me believe it is a post war piece.
I don't know on which site it is. Please tell me.

                    Dietrich,
I think the "dent row" is an optical illusion caused by loss of frosting. If you go on the e-medals site (and you are much more proficient with computers than me!) you can save the page and actually blow-up the individual photos.

This is one of the 3 crosses that were on the so-called "salesmans boards" (actually "barter boards') discussed here some time ago. All were mint.
Interestingly, both the ordinary cross and the one with Oaks and Swords appeared to be standard "A" crosses, without flaws, while the one with Oaks only (sold now, I understand) had a "B" obverse and an unflawed "A" reverse. On that one, there was a clearly observable "bridge flaw" and what APPEARED to be a "dent row". Although a suggestion was made that the dent row there was also just worn frosting, it certainly appeared to my eyes to be a real dent row, much more defined and not explainable by just worn frosting.

The current cross shown in THIS thread, however, really does not have the bridge flaw and any suggestion of a dent row is, in fact, readily ascertainable as only frosting wear. The unfinished ring (as you know and pointed out in your book) is sometimes seen on wartime crosses. The paint on this one does appear to be bone-black, but with a higher sheen to it, almost as if a slight film of oil had been put on it . When these crosses were first shown in the old thread on the boards, the paint had a much more flat appearance.

I think a closer, and longer, look may be needed at this cross (in fact, all these crosses).
                    Regards,
                    Leroy

A closer look is always better. But unless I am seeing something I want to see, everything points towards a B-Type.
What are the changes that there is a dent at the exactly same spot where one is with the dent row? In combination with the other typical (late) B-Type features?

Someone should ask him for better pics ... for $16k, I'd think anyone would go out of their way to provide a few more snapshots. However, make sure you have a reputation for deep pockets or you will be ignored.

Here is this cross (and the other 2) when they first were shown here in a thread some time ago.
