    [QUOTE=Robin Lumsden;3776634]I don't like the '57' type...............too many of them around.
    QUOTE]

    Very, very many around, in greatly varying quality, and almost all made in or after 1957. But some with the Oakleaves portion which match the Oakleaves stamped L/16 (with little or no flaw between the central leaf and the "vein" to the right).

      I bow to your greater knowledge of these things.

      There are so many 'die flaws' around these days, I've lost count.

          The oaks are not wartime.The swords are junk.The swastika has the same shape as a post war non magnetic.The frame however looks good.

            Is there any way to enlarge von Manteuffel's Oak Leaves and Swords to see if there is absence of the balls on the sword crossguards?

                                I can't see the dent row. Looks like the cross is an 'A' type?
