    Wiedmann is 'L/51'.
Are you saying the L15 I showed without swords is zinc? Always thought is was tombak.

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't the backing plates on the L15 KVKI's an integral part of the cross? Or, are the plates soldered into a recess in the cross?

Now, were both going to learn something here, Steve. This is one of the only KVKI makers I don't have yet, so I'm presuming a lot here. Please forgive me for any errors thus far regarding the 'L15'. Someone with more experience with the 'L15's please step in here.

Steve, it looks like tombak to me as well. I think (presume) the hingeplate is an integral part of these 'L15's. We've wandered away from the '43'.

Yes we have, but I think the value of this thread may become the baseplate situation as it relates to tombak vs zinc construction and what makers this may apply to.

You're right, Steve. And, I need to pick up this maker's crosses to learn them first-hand.

Ha! I'm regrouping after this year's Christmas. But, I've always a little put aside for the unpredictable.

Unpredictable? You mean getting on the Estand and every dealer's site everyday and looking for an L15 KVK1? Sounds completly unpredicable and random.

No, I'm not searching the net.
