Ben you show some beautiful crosses. Is there anything on the upper left cross that indicates a particular maker? Does the core or the frame match any marked examples you've seen?

    Thanks for any help.

Also: are upper-right and lower-left identical (obverse)?
    Best regards,
    Streptile

      Hi Trevor,

no, nothing that indicates a particular maker.
It's from the same maker as Jim's cross that was the thread-starter.
Somehow I have a feeling that Deschler made these crosses, based on the date and on the wideness of the frame mainly.
      But I can't prove it....

This is a one-piece as well, never seen a marked cross that matches this cross in any way.
That means nothing though, the maker of the one-piece schinkels is still unknown to.

The 2 crosses you mean have the same core, but the frame is different.
Also the difference in weight is 4 gramm

Yes, I thought it looked the same as Jim's. Hard to tell it's a one-piece from your photos... very interesting cross.

What do you think about Schickle as the maker of the one-piece Schinkels?

It is from the same maker, just like the PB I posted.
You see them pop up from time to time, but they are scarce.

Well, I don't have a clue, frankly, but you can't find a maker by the hardware alone.
So it can be Schickle but in fact it can be any maker.
Since Schinkels , as well as the crosses shown in this thread, are pre-LdO there's no way to tell if they were made by a company that we know as ek-makers.
Maybe they didn't get a license for ek's, which means they are not on the list......

Very interesting. For some reason I never thought of that possibility.

You're not alone Trevor, but it's not unlikely.

Since this thread is mainly about 1-piece crosses, here my latest Schinkel.
1-piece cross with a 1 piece disc, very unusual.
I don't know if it's a replacement disc for the regular disc and nut, but I like it

                    Ek

I am back home. The vitals of the cross:

                    Weight: 23g (with everything)
                    Height: 44.89 mm
                    Width: 44.73 mm
                    Post on back: 2.94 mm
                    Screw: 2.52

Cross has a nice vault to it (factory I think). It looks like the cross was completely painted black (there is black paint on the edges) prior to polishing. It is non-magnetic. Jim
