    Double-marked Meybauer EK 1

One thing I love about these Forums is the way they prompt you to keep taking detailed looks at your collection pieces. CalvĂn's thread on his new cased EK (http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...ad.php?t=40253) sent me to my Meybauer EKs for comparison. And when I looked closely at them, I noticed something I hadn't seen before on one of them -- it's marked both "L/13" and "7." I've never seen this kind of double marking on an EK 1 before.

And under the "L/13", faintly, is the "7."

I have gone back many times to look at some of my EK's. First for the acorn then cross-hatching, then etc, etc. I agree with you George details that I have missed, or didn't even know about, are brought up here on the forum.

Great find, interesting and rare (at least I haven't seen it) double mark from Meybauer.

Interesting, was produced to be an awarded piece and then gets marked for private purchase. Unlike the Zimmermann double marked EK’s they try to hide it

<O</OYes I agree this forum is very informative, before coming here I had only heard of double marked L/52, 20 Zimmermanns, now we have seen, Zimmermann’s, S&L’s and now Meybauer’s<O</O

          100 Eki

Like the Meybauer above, I have a Wachtler and Lange 1st class pin back that's marked both 100 and L55. The incused 100 was stamped first, and then the L55 over it.

          Cheers,

          George L

                resurrecting a very old thread....
Since I have a double marked Meybauer as well, I stumbled upon this old thread.
It appears that double marked Meybauer ek's are hard to find.

                Here's mine

                        Nice one Ben.

They do seem a lot rarer than double-marked 20s or 4s.
                        Best regards,

Thank you Carl, I didn't recall where I got it from, but now I do....

@ Maurice: they are hard to find

@ Trevor: yes, they are much scarcer then double-marked 20 or 4 ek's indeed.
