Can someone present a nice comparison between one of these and the EK 2 by "24"?
    Thanks!

                              Three possiblities....

My two pennies.....Without seeing anything from Detlev as yet, I think there are only three possiblities, with only one most likely...

                              1. The cross is real and the product of a much less known maker who somehow got premission to produce it.

                              2. The cross is made post-war from wartime parts. I have heard this possibility raised on almost every badge or award out there--Iron Cross, German Cross, etc. Almost always, it is difficult or impossible to prove. And, really, how likely is it?

                              3. The cross is a fake. If so, the fakers have taken their craft to a whole new level of sophisitication. Take a look at these pieces. Everything about them looks to be of wartime manufacture. They are made with a quailty that I have not yet seen on the fakes. If these are fake, we are all in trouble and had better be worried about a whole lot of other items we have.

                              Anybody feel otherwise?

                              Larry

I think it's important to keep in mind that many of us focus almost exclusively on marked crosses, and tend to overlook unmarked examples. If this particular type was always unmarked, there may be many more than we suspect just waiting to be found. We've seen this happen with the so-called "early Godet" EK1s -- as soon as they were identified on this forum as rare, folks started finding them all over the place. It just takes a little persistence in looking through unmarked crosses on dealer sites that many of us would ordinarily have overlooked.
                                Best regards,
