    1914/39 EKI, L/52 C F Zimmermann Screwback

Not sure where to put this but since it's made in the LDO-era it ended up here. Marked with L/52 & factory vaulted. Either left over 1914 frame & core were used OR new stamp with original dies from WWI OR TR-era made dies in the shape of 1914. No C F Z crosses, exept for Prinzen sized, from 1914 is known so my best guess is TR-era made dies. Hardware/screwback is from the TR-era. Core has no black paint remaining at all and the solder has melted and run onto the backplate. Makes me wonder if it came out of the "C F Zimmermann burned factory horde". Flanges are burnished and beading is frosted, backplate looks silverplated.

Nice one George, know you have the pinback version as well. What do you think of the TR-era made die theory? Ones i saw are all early strikes, no flaws on frames and cores.

Thanks guys! Just got word from the seller and it's indeed a "Zimmermann burned factory horde" cross, he bought 2 from DN about a year ago.
