    New Cased L/52 1914 EK1

This one arrived today. It's a 1914 screwback EK1 marked L/52 for C. F. Zimmermann. This one comes in an LDO stamped case. This is a replacemnt piece from the TR era. I'm pretty sure it's good. It has the frosty beading and rear and that flat or matte type paint finish on the core that I have seen on other TR era 1914 EK1s. The stamp looks ok to me too. The first shot is a little dark but so is the cross. What does everyone think? I picked this up from the same source as this other LDO marked 1914. Here's is a link to that post as I need some opinions on that one. Thanks for looking.

The rear. Anti rotation pin seems a little bent.

Definately a nice one. Can you lighten the pic so we can see the core details. We'll need to add this to the data base.

I have no idea how to do that, but I would like too. How can I do it. I will attempt to get some more examples for the data base. For LDO marked Imperials I also have an L/57 EK2 and an L/11 EK1.

I took the liberty of tweaking your photo a little bit.

Thanks Greg. What do you think? The case got the thumbs up in the cases and packets forum.

Steve, your cross is identical to my L/52 1914 screwback -- except that yours is probably a little nicer!

                        Hi Steve,

As mentioned elsewhere, a very nice cross in a nice genuine case. A great "double" addition!

                        Regards

Steve, to get a better detail of the very black core, you must take the pic on a black background to "fool" the arpeture of the camera so that it thinks it will be a "dark" photo and the arpeture will open wide. Even doing this, the bright frosty frame will still tell the camera the pic will be bright and the arpeture will again be stopped down. If you want to go through the trouble, cut a stencil from black construction paper so that when you lay it on the cross, all you see is the core. I have the same problems taking pics of my black dog.
