well Folks, I got the cross in hand yesterday.. Pictures do not do it justice.

The leatherette box is (and I dont like to use the word MINT) but very close to it. Cardboard has seen some use but still in very nice shape for a 60+ year old.

The Cross itself is also better than the pictures. The back of it has the slight frosting we all like to see. Some patina on the silver edges on the front, no damage to the paint.

Ill post some more pics tonight.

Those that were interested shoot me a PM before I put it in the for sale section.

Really very nice set and interesting to see the left catch in an EKI by F.Zimmermann.

One other thing to remember is F. Zimmermann crosses often have a poor core finish! the paint tended to flake off due to core rust. Yours looks real nice!
          Great find!

Here are some better pics and a nice ZF41 scope with the sun shades.

Did anyone notice that the clasp comes from the left and not the more common right?

Is that a Fritz Zimmerman "oddity?

The only "damage" is one of the wings to the box has worn out over time.

                    Bummer!!

The standard is the right catch, more common, in my opinion the left catch coulbe be called variante, more desirable. Really nice set which would like to have in my collection..
