This looks like a match. Good? I don't know. Let's see what others have to say about it...

                  good comparison pic
but I still think they're Flochs, slightly different angles/lighting/reworking etc
a few of these non-viened examples have cropped up lately. I think they've been re-worked with more believeable hardware. JMHO

I'm not anywhere near Robert's or Jon's level of knowledge but it looks to me like

I know different makers have different characteristics but some of the detail looks off compared to my Spange and others I have seen posted.

I am by no means the official word on the issue though. I would see what the heavy-weights decide!

I just reviewed the Floch article at the top of this section and did not see one with a hinge or pin assembly that matched the one that I posted. What I find interesting is the weight of this Spange is 8.7 grams which is exactly the same as an original Mayer that I have. Does this matter?

                        jon,

I confess I don't know the complete line of original 1st class spanges well enough to say whether it's original or not, but I believe it and the Floch are from entirely different dies. When looking at the wreath around the talon area there is just too much difference between both to think a die has been reworked. It may be another Floch creation, I am not sure. There are similarities. Surely someone must recognize this spange. And, it doesn't look like an 'L/13' spange, far from it.

super close pics of the datebox would be a good start...
maybe this IS an L/11 variant
