Ok, I've had this one a long time and always had a few doubts. Then I heard the story of the '333' and '666' EK2 that came out in the late 80's.
Problem is, the ring isn't marked '666' or '333' that I can see but some thing indistinguishable (see for yourself). It does have all the characteristics of the fake, sharp edges, etc. and a die flaw or the right, vertical beading...
That's about the clearest I could explode the mark to, and still be readable (although I still can't read it, even with a loupe).
I'm ready for the bad news as I feel its a repro, just need a few others to confirm it!
