      Yes!
Loops are easily changed and IMO it reflects on the value of the cross!

Provenance and groupings are a whole different realm.

How much in your opinion Kevin does this affect the price? And I agree with you fully on that Dion!

I just bought a spare Juncker "800" loop this week for the L/12 kC and paid 700 euro for it!
BTW Special thanks to the seller!

                Kevin,
I am a fan of maker-marked iron crosses and knights crosses, thats all.

I lived several years in Idar-Oberstein, where Klein & Quenzer produced the KCs, so I am a fan of "65".

My statement, that I would not buy an unmarked or "only" 800-marked KC does not have anything to do with the question of originality.

I also would never buy an KC with an unmagnetic core. In my opinion, the Knights Cross of the Iron cross has to be made of iron...

                Best,
                Walter.

Quite a difference then! Where can you pick up boxed L/12 Juncker's for 10k Euro?

                    Thanks Walter for the explanation!
But as you probably know the first Juncker KC' s awarded were unmarked with a non magnetic core (zinc)!

                    Best regards

I am also looking forward to the answer...

                      10.000 € is a lot of money, but for a cased L/12...

If you can buy an L/12 for 7500 euro and you add a case + full lenght ribbon for 2500 euro it makes 10000 euro!

                        Best regards

Hi Kevin, the only ones that I have seen to date are on Weitzes site, and he is asking around 10k Euro for one without a box?? Where can you find them for 7,500 Euro?

Sir, I don't know you but I can share you I collect KC's myself! Weitze is indeed a dealer and the reason his prices are higher is because he has staff to pay, taxes etc.
He is not the only seller of KC's? The are other dealers and many KC's are sold between collectors themselves.
DN has sometimes very nice KC's for sale at very reasonable prices!
An L/12 without case for 7500 is not that difficult but if you only look at dealers I understand!

                              Best regards
                              Kevin

depends, and what you mention does effect groupings. moreso what i meant is some people would rather have an aces kc moreso then a field marshall who never seen action in ww2, its a very fickle market form the brief experience i have had. some collectors want one that has been worn from the battlefield and some a minty un issued. i love them as a collector, but as a seller i have no joy with them.
