round 3 - what about this one?

    Hello gents,

What's your opinion about this round 3 EK2? I have to admit, I've never seen any in my own hands, so I have no idea about the originality. Looks good anyway...
If it's original - what's a reasonable price for it?

    Thank you!
    Balázs

    R3

Looks good, is the 1813 slanted (1 higher than 3) looks that way in the photo. Jim

      It's an original example.
Price varies depending where you look, I just had a quick look through some dealers sites and have seen them range from 195€ up to 395€ yet on estand they tend to go between the 200-250€ range which is the sort of figure I would be comfortable with.

Jim - Thanks! All I've seen is this photo you see, I wish I've had it in my hand... So I don't know, the '1' does look to be taller

Adrian - Thanks! For now the Hungarian currency has terrible days so the price would be about 260 euros. Hmm

Have you got any idea about the maker? Is this the so called thick variant?
        Cheers,
        Balázs

My first thought was it looks like the thick variant and comparing to mine it does look that way, I've posted mine below for comparison....

Thank you Adrian! Your cross does look identical! Is the maker of these thick round 3 EKs known?

              Cheers,

Hi - Adrian and Balazs :
Either one of you have a weight of your cross ?
A maker of these thick crosses as far as I know , has not been determined .

                  Hi Douglas,

Unfortunately my precise jeweller balance does not work, so I can use only the kitchen balance But it's about 23 gramms, quite heavy even by holding it in your hand!

                  Cheers,
                  Balázs

Douglas> Was surprised it weighed less than the R3 Deschler and exactly the same as the Übergrösse i have, would have thought the Über to weigh more. 26 g, coin silver frames? Balázs cross is a match to mine, but i've seen thick ones that have different frames in your thread:

                          http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...d.php?t=327702

                          R3 thick: 44.25 X 44.55 (49.40 incl. jumpring) x 5.10 mm
