        it's nice to be wanted!

sadly both of these are of unknown makers, but both are 100% authentic
I actually call these styles 'unknown1' and 'unknown2' if that's any help
        regards

          ooops
          I'm wrong
the second one isn't a true prinzen. It's the '2prong' die, of L/15. (which is slightly different to the 'normal' L/15) I presume for the medal bar...
          regards

Very nice Spangs Jim! You sure blow me away finding all the nice Ek's and associated items like you do! You make it look easy! I know it is not!
Can You post the reverse photos of each Spang for education reasons Jim?

Jon, so the unknown 1 maker left the flash on the eagle under the beak and over the shoulders then? Is this a heads up for id on Unknown 1?
Thanks for your reply! I am trying to learn as much as possible before buying my first Spang.
Great job Jim! I like the look of the wear (Rubbing) on the first Spang, For sure displayed on a uniform during the war....

              Thank you for your comments.

Jon, why is one not a true Prinzen? I have measured them and they are:

              4 prong - 23mm X 24mm
              2 prong - 25mm X 25mm

Here are the pictures as requested.

Thanks for the measurements Jim, that clears up another little mystery
These 'possibly L/15' prinzens are almost totally identical to the normal sized L/15 marked ones
(I say 'possibly' as I've found no actual hard proof, and none are marked)
and viewing pics without handling/measuring they look one and the same
                    (sadly I don't own a prinzen 'L/15' )
                    I'd previously thought L/15 had 2 dies for their standard EK2 spangen, 4 + 2 prong.
The 2 prong are the prinzens
and reviewing all my L/15 files, there are also other minute differences I've realised. So from now on I can tell the differnce between L/15 prinzens and standards without measurements, thanks!

and yes Kevin, I havn't seen another 'unknown maker prinzen' without the flashing, and they are pretty rare
                    regards

                      Jon,

I have two regular L15 (neither marked), one with four prongs and one with two prongs. I had posted them last year http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...d.php?t=319417. Jim

Jim that's great, I thought I was losing my mind for a minute
so yes, there ARE 2 standard L/15 dies
                        and 1 prinzen 'L/15' die

you're a lucky guy to own all 3!
                        regards
