Finaly I got the top peace for my collection, an RK Juncker 800 dot.
The thing is, that it suppose to belong to RKT Böttcher, Walter-Hans as it was sold few years ago by Mr. Niemann, but it was separated from the lot of documents and album of Böttcher.
For some opinion I already asked Mr. Dietrich Maerz but I would like to open the discusion to other too.
So what botthers me is this.
RK Juncker 800 dot is said to be an early war model of RK's which were awarded in years 1940/41. Bottcher got his RK on 08.02.1943. Would it be possible that an RK from old stock was awarded to him and that even 2 years later?
Second thing. Bottcher was killed on the Russian front on 6th June 1943, that is 4 months after he received the RK. But based on woreness of this RK it seems that it was worn more than for 4 months. The back side is little worn off, mostly the numbers, but on the swastika the colour is quite worn off. It is strange that on the front there is more dammage as it is on the back.
What can you tell me out of this facts I stated here?
Mr. Dietrich Maerz suggested that I should forget about Bottcher and think of RK as of a nice unnamed early war peace. In the end I might do right this but I'm hoping that a nice creative discussion will come out of this thread.
Here are some pictures and I hope you like it! I surely do!
