    Ek 2 Fake Alert

    Hi EK2 Collectors;
    New fakes on the market maker marked 65 stamped incorrect font, 107, 26, incluse stamp on the rings look good, all have a hump frame like the Deschler, with inside corners next to the swas with x's and bird claws similar to the Souval to the outside corners. Frame looks decent. Beware new collectors these are out in the market in U.S.A. They were recently in an auction in the midwest also, and I might add that they were sold at a hefty price.

    Thanks Rick, I've seen them on an auction sale, numbered like you say. Their outside corners look almost like a Souval, but not quite the full chicken foot. They're attractive, but full of poison.

                      Me too! And I've also had one of those "26" marked EK2s; fortunately, the dealer was honest (he didn't know it was fake), and refunded all of my money.

                      I bought it at a local show last May and, were it not for this forum, I would've never known I had a fake one in my collection.

                          Had a look ... it is some what simular but I think ... well the core is different ... see 3 on reverse date, not slanted as on the left ones but long top on the 3 with a different bottom angle ? As in the old post it too has the very wide bead step you could scate on . Would say heavy reworked frame die with a different core ?
