Spanish cross in silver, Repro or good??

    Hey guys,

Could anybody please tell me whether I have something good here, or Bad
I`ve never bought one before, so I`m also no expert on these? It has the 900 hallmark, however, it also has another symbol stamped alongside the hallmark which I cannot make out? The cross was vaulted by someone, maybe the wearer id original? Unfortunately lots of unanswered questions, for which I would love to have some answeres!
I`d greatly appreciate some advise. I also have a DKiG listed seperately too, for which I`d also appreciate some feedback

    Many thanks guys!

    Dion

im not an expert myself but i believe this to be a Paul Meybauer. because of the crest.
these crosses are supposed to be vaulted as well

It looks like it had swords at some time as well?

Yes, looks like a good one. Meybauer, if I´m not mistaken.

it really depends when the swords got cut off. SC without swords in silver are far more rarer than the SC with swords.

Many thanks for all the answers guys Very interesting that those swords were removed??
This cross, plus several other pieces were obtained in a motel buy, from the same person, who was`nt really a collector. So, the motive for removing the swords is a mystery to me too!?

However, as was mentioned, one without swords is rarer than one with, and more valuable! So the reason could be for several reasons?

The question was raised about the value. What would the value be, approx??

Yes, this is an original Meybauer SC. Only problem is it's tough to tell on these if the swords were removed pre-1945 or not. The theory behind Meybauer is they had no dies without swords so if they needed to make one without, they simply cut off the swords before they sent it out the door. Value? Not sure what a silver without swords is bringing these days.

                          Hi George,

This is very interesting about Meybauer not having the dies! I wonder how many more collectors have a Meybauer where the swords were removed

Very rare spanish cross in silver !!!!

There is nothing wrong with this Original Spanish Cross without swords !!! The maker always made this badge with out swords with the hallmark and 900 silver mark on an angle in its placement of the hinge and C-catch and { yes } they always removed the swords. A very nice Presentation peace awarded on June 6 1939 !!! Extremely Rare!!!
