Who talked about throw it away?

So why just argue about the removal of the swords as a reason to complain???
I agree with you and noticed this years ago. If the eagles are soldered in three places, it was meant to be without swords from the time of manufacture.

But not a universal truth. Look at Petz catalog Norm posted.

Eagles would have to be trimmed on those and other manufacturers.

What does the Meybauer catalog show???

Spanish Cross in Silver without swords

          Dion

Your Spanish Cross without swords by Paul Meybauer is {not } less value because the swords were removed. Your Spanish Cross doesn't decrease in value like others that have been deliberately removed to increase the value. You would think it would decrease in value but with yours it was meant to be that way by the maker. What is important to remember is that only a short amount of time was given to all the Companies who were making these Presentation peaces to have them done by June 6 1939. This may be a factor in why the removal of the swords were done with less quality !! I do commend Paul Meybauer for making their silver examples without swords completely constructed different then there Presentation pieces in Silver with swords. This made the silver examples with swords impossible to be copied from the examples without swords !!!

Like I said, yours is only 1 of 327 that existed in 1939 as a Presentation example.

Value- $ 4000.00 and up !! There isn't a price decrease on this Spanish Cross!!!

Wow CEJ, you know for a fact these were the pieces on the presentation day? I don't. What's your irrefutable reference please? And $4,000 for this piece. Where do you draw that price tag from please?

"Rarity" doesn't necessary equate completely with price...

              Pesentation Spanish Cross

To claim anything with someone as { fact } is like saying I could take you back in time and show you the badge. I do know that all Spanish Crosses that are the { L / series were made after June 6 1939. I also assume you knew that. Its Documented !!! Now whats left ?

                Presentation Spanish Crosses

Most of the { L/ Series } Spanish Crosses can be found that are silver examples and Gold examples are made using other alloys like Tomback or Bronze only painted silver or Gold paint. You knew that too didn't you !!

                  Rareity and Price

Find a collector who would sell you a Spanish Cross in Silver without swords that was this rare for less price than one with swords and I will show you a collector who doesn't know what he has.

                      tgn sorry I didn't comment !!!

                      tgn

Sorry I didn't get back to you. Your Spanish Cross made by Paul Meybauer with the swords removed is another perfect example of a Presentation piece that is extremely very rare.

They do NOT loose their value because the swords were removed at the factory. The prof of this is that the Eagles were attached in 3 places and the hallmark was placed sideways with the hinge and catch placed on the other two arms of the cross.

Its very easy to tell people that if the swords were removed from some pieces that it would lose its value. ONLY IN CASES IF YOU WANT TO DECEIVE !!!

THAT'S TOTALLY NOT TRUE IN YOUR CROSS !!!

Just because the quality of removing the swords isn't there , doesn't make it wrong!
