Unfortunately this one's not mine, but rather one I have my eye on...

Can anyone offer me an opinion of this Spange? Obviously a 1st Pattern, shown also on p. 164 of Williamson, The Iron Cross of 1939. This is the only photo available. Genuine?

Robert: your unmarked Juncker Spange a few posts up is gorgeous!
Can we have a picture of the reverse? I did a search on the forum and believe it is an L/57. Jim

Unfortunately I have no other photos except the ones in Williamson's book, but as this is a first pattern Spange I do not expect it would have an LDO number. If this type IS marked L/57 I'd want to know, as I would probably pass on it. Anyone?

          Spange

Here is the link that this spange was discussed http://70.87.163.50/forums/showthrea...ght=EKI+Spange

Very few spanges are maker marked, but most of them are attributed to an LDO code. Jim

The picture of that spange seems like it has been "cut" out from another photo.
If you looks close to the edge, they seems rather strange, or is that just me?

But I find the edges of the spange really odd.

I see what you mean. But, looking at it closely I see the light source casting shadows on the spange and on the background from the same point. But this could be possible through photoshop actually. I don't know. Let's wait for an answer on this.

Oh, hi. Yes, I photoshopped out the background. I think the edges of this one are just fine... sorry!
                  Best regards,
