              I second that Don.

              Sorry, Matthew....

I guess it's marked L/21, but it is a Floch....

              Best regards,
              Ben

                      Hi Matthew
I have to agree, yours is a fake one, sorry
as for makers of the EK1 spange? I know of around 13 known authentic individual designs
                      regards

                        Matthew,

What I meant by 'flashcards' is computer files (images). I honestly think the best way to get to 'imprint' the details of every maker of spange into your brain is to actually purchase, handle and photograph each badge (spange), if money allows. Once you study each badge in hand, and through photographs you have taken of them, when you see a specific spange on the forum board you immediately recognize it. You recognize it because the image has been 'burned' into your brain by photos you have taken of it, etc.. I don't have as many 1st Class spanges as others on the forum, so I have to study and compare the photos I see more than those who actually own more. I compare the details of each area of the badge, the obverse, the pin assembly, etc.. It's true about learning them better by owning them yourself. I hope this helps.

                        Robert

how old would this spange be?

                              Thread necromancy...

Can anyone offer me an opinion of this Spange? Obviously a 1st Pattern, shown also on p. 164 of Williamson, The Iron Cross of 1939. This is the only photo available. Genuine?

Robert: your unmarked Juncker Spange a few posts up is gorgeous!
                              Best regards,

IMO your spange is an original 1st pattern, Trevor. I know not who the maker is, although others may.
