      Hi guys,

I remember we discussed this maker´s mark variation before.

To me it seems I have always seen only ZINK KVKs marked with the "accepted" 65 mark. The Buntmetall ones seem to have the one shown by George at the beginning of this thread. Is that observation right?

So my question would be: does anybody have a BUNTMETALL KVK with the "accepted" (as found on 65 EKs) maker´s mark?

Here is my ZINK KVK with "accepted" 65 mark. Now where are the Buntmetall ones?

      Cheers, Frank

          Buntmetal KVK1 (65)

          George,

Here's the front and back of mine so we all can compare the two. Many eyes are better than one and personally, I would like other's opinions as well--nothing to hide or feel ashamed of here if I got a bogus piece. But then again...

The dimensions and weight are listed for reference.

          22.3 grams; W:47.46 mm; H:47.48 mm.

            Here's the backside.

I remember Mike K. (from down under) commenting in the previous thread about the tapered hinge pins Klein & Quenzer used and this one has that feature as well.

              Tim,

The stippling on the arms on yours, Frank's, and mine matches for sure.

                George,

That's what I thought last night as well but wanted to see somebody else say it first. There might be very slight differences, but keeping in mind the shadowing from slightly different camera angles and lighting, I thought they were pretty close as well.

Hi Frank! Drop me a line some night as I have something to show you.

Mike K; Is this what you were talking about on the tapered hinge pins?

                  Hi Tim,

Yes, you can pretty clearly see "flared base dome"/helmet (almost riveted!) effect on the hinge pin end visible (just to clarify, not the long main pin, the little pin that goes through the hingeblock and holds the main pin segment). The other side is the same. As far as I know, the effect is unique to K&Q crosses (but I haven't studied all maker's so I could certainly be wrong here - there always seem to be exceptions!).

                  Regards
                  Mike K
                  Regards
                  Mike

Evaluate the item, not the story and not the seller's reputation!

If you PM/contact me without the courtesy of using your first name, please don't be offended if I politely ignore you!

I saw this week end a 65 in a box on the pin of an EK1, it appeared to have the small pin and catch of the L15(Flock), anyone seen a 65 in a box?
